TERMS OF USE
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Service. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.
2. CAN Is Not a Law Firm; No Legal Advice
CAN is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice or legal representation. The Service is intended to provide general information and to connect users with independent attorneys. Nothing on the Service should be interpreted as legal advice.
3. No Attorney-Client Relationship
Using the Service, submitting information through the Service, or communicating with CAN does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and CAN. Any attorney-client relationship is formed only between you and an attorney you choose to retain, and only after you and that attorney have agreed to representation.
4. Independent Attorneys
Attorneys connected through the Service are independent professionals and are not employees, agents, partners, or representatives of CAN. CAN does not control and is not responsible for any attorney's services, communications, advice, fees, outcomes, or conduct.
5. How the Service Works
When you contact CAN through the Website, by phone, or through other communication channels, CAN may forward your information to an independent attorney so that the attorney may contact you. CAN may use factors such as case type, geographic location, and rotation/availability when connecting users with attorneys. CAN does not recommend or endorse any attorney as “better,” “best,” or more qualified than others.
6. No Guarantee of Results
CAN does not guarantee:
- that you will be connected with an attorney,
- that an attorney will accept your matter,
- that you will obtain any particular legal outcome.
7. User Responsibilities
You agree that you will:
- provide accurate information to the best of your ability,
- use the Service only for lawful purposes,
- not impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity,
- not use the Service to harass, threaten, or harm others.
8. Confidentiality and Sensitive Information
Do not submit confidential, privileged, or highly sensitive information through the Service. Information submitted to CAN is not protected by attorney-client privilege unless and until you have retained an attorney.
9. AI and Automated Communications
CAN may use automated tools, including artificial intelligence (“AI”), to assist with intake, triage, and communication. The Service may include automated messages or AI-assisted intake. CAN's AI tools do not provide legal advice and are not a substitute for advice from a licensed attorney.
10. Communications Consent (Phone, Text, Email)
By using the Service and providing your contact information, you consent to receive communications from CAN and/or independent attorneys by phone call, text message, and email using the information you provide. Message frequency may vary. Standard messaging and data rates may apply. You may opt out of CAN text messages at any time by replying STOP.
11. No Call Recording (Current Policy)
CAN does not record calls as part of its standard operations at this time. If CAN ever enables call recording in the future, CAN will provide notice and obtain consent as required by applicable law.
12. Fees
CAN does not charge users any fee to use the Service. Attorneys may charge fees for legal services. Any fee arrangement is solely between you and the attorney you choose to retain.
13. Prohibited Uses
You may not:
- use the Service to violate any law or regulation,
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems,
- interfere with the operation or security of the Service,
- transmit malware or harmful code.
14. Intellectual Property
All content on the Service, including text, logos, designs, and other materials, is owned by CAN or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, or distribute any content without prior written permission from CAN.
15. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. CAN disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
16. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CAN will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, goodwill, or data, arising from or related to your use of the Service.
17. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Updates will be posted with a revised effective date. Your continued use of the Service means you accept the updated Terms.
18. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to conflict of laws principles.
